Zaun Limited recently exhibited at the International Building and Materials
Exhibition ‘BATIMAT’ in Paris. Lasting for 6 days, the exhibition
is one of the largest of its type in the world, and gives companies from
all aspects of the internal and external environments the opportunity
to showcase their products.
“We have been operating in France for some time now and have an
established office in Paris that deals with the French side of the business”
says Paul Painter, Zaun’s Director Sales and Finance, who himself
is fluent in French.
“The
BATIMAT exhibition is enormously popular and for this reason we decided
that it would be the ideal place to showcase our products in the French
market. Over the six days buyers of all nationalities showed a very encouraging
amount of interest in our products. In particular, our ornate styles of
fencing were particularly well received, and it was indicated to us that
this is an area in which French fencing suppliers and manufacturers are
perhaps not meeting the demand of the architects and specifiers, providing
in the main only functional perimeter systems.”
The Zaun stand was also benefited by the presence of Graeme Lightbody,
contender for the ‘keepie-uppie’ football record, who entertained
visitors around the stand and the exhibition in general with his skills
with a football. “This is the second event we have brought Graeme
to in order to raise the profile of our range of sports fencing”
said Paul. “He’s a great character and is happy to answer
questions from visitors to the stand.
All in all, the exhibition was very worthwhile. We made a large number
of solid contacts and will be booking again for the next exhibition in
2007”.
