What advantages does mesh fencing have over palisade style fencing?

In the world of security fencing, there are a few different types to choose from. Two of the most common you will see are mesh fencing (either woven or welded mesh) and palisade fencing. Many people will choose mesh fencing for their security needs due to its advantages compared to the palisade.

We take a look at why mesh fencing is a great choice compared to palisade fencing.

1. It looks better

Although this may sound a bit shallow, the look of your security fencing is key. If you need security fencing for a children’s playground or perimeter fencing for a school, then mesh is far better here. Mesh fencing looks more inviting and appealing, making it more suitable for a wider range of uses. After all, although you want to be secure, you don’t want to scare people away either!

2. Better visibility

Due to the way it is designed, mesh fencing gives better visibility when looking through it. If you take the example of a kids playground again, this is crucial to keep an eye on what is happening from outside. This could also be true if you are watching a football game through some sports fencing – you wouldn’t see much of the game with a palisade fence there! Mesh fencing allows the people inside to be kept safe and allows you to see what is happening for total security.

3. It is more versatile

Mesh fencing also has the edge in this key area too. Whether you go for woven or welded mesh fencing, it is likely to be suitable for most jobs you will need it for. This is true for personal use as well as commercial use. Many homeowners, for example, will use mesh fencing to build animal pens in their back gardens. Palisade fencing wouldn’t be practical for this or nice to look at.
