Founder member gets first PSSA certification for fencing products

One of the founding members of the Perimeter Security Suppliers’ Association (PSSA) has become the first company to have fencing products certified through the PSSA’s Product Verification Scheme.

The PSSA certification awarded perimeter security specialist Zaun both company and product certificates at Counter Terror Expo (CTX) 2013 at London’s Kensington Olympia.

Zaun’s ArmaWeave® and ArmaWeave® Plus high security products were the first fencing products to be piloted through the PSSA certification scheme.

Scheme Manager Stephen Munden said: ”I’m impressed by the enthusiasm and commitment of Zaun and the other applicants – and pleased to see some significant additions to our list of verified products.”

He presented a seminar at CTX on the scheme’s aims, benefits, requirements and product compliance, focusing on risk assessment.

He added: ”There is increasing concern from CPNI & others within the industry that safety standards should be raised. Our scheme incorporates this and addresses two key areas – product risk assessment and developing a technical file as essential steps before CE marking.

Zaun co-founder and director Paul Painter said: ”We’re absolutely delighted to join the Verification Scheme, especially as we’re one of the founding members of the PSSA.”
