Zaun has won its own sporting gold after being selected to provide the Olympic Perimeter Fencing, security fencing and gates at the 2012 Olympic Park site in London.

Two tier one contractors issued a joint tender to design, manufacture, supply and install a new high security fence and gates around the 17 km perimeter of the Olympic site. The fence is to be 5m high with 7m lighting and CCTV columns every 25m.

Zaun beat off three other short-listed companies to win the Olympic contract. Work will start on the site in January and it is expected that the fence will be fully in place by the end of the year.

Alastair Henman, Managing Director at Zaun, said “During the economic downturn winning this contract has been even more important and this success will be shared by our suppliers and employees, whose jobs are now secured. Already we have seen a number of other jobs come our way as a result of winning the contract.

“This project is helping Zaun expand, both increasing its production space and supporting investment in new plant and equipment.”
