BATIMAT - ArmaWeave Woven MeshZaun showcased a raft of new products on our biggest ever stand at the construction industry show BATIMAT. We exhibited new product innovations from railings to twin-wire perimeter systems and the highest-security fencing solutions, which have secured world-first accreditations.

The bi-annual show in Paris, which took place from 7 to 12 November, attracted a global audience and a springboard for manufacturers to launch technological innovations and speed up their adoption and uptake.

Our head of northern European sales, Laurence Painter, said: ‘BATIMAT is the ideal platform to show we have the widest range, the best service, the highest quality products, the first to market, premium customer support and the longest guarantee on the market.

‘We took the opportunity to showcase the Zaun brand and our extensive product range, develop and enhance existing relationships and meet new contacts who will be our customers of the future.’

Zaun, which manufactures exclusively in its purpose-built factory in the West Midlands, offers an industry-beating 12-year guarantee on its products. Our designers use the latest research and development to create bespoke product solutions for some of the most prestigious companies, schools, universities, offices, factories, sports bodies, prisons and high-security sites worldwide.

Our factories and manufacturing processes are accredited to ISO9001: 2008 standards. Our integrated fencing solutions are used by British government institutions and prisons and boast the highest British Standards Institute, Secured by Design and Publicly Available Specification security ratings and accreditations.

We are no surprise then that we are unashamedly British and proud of it and have put our name as a founder signatory to a new marque promoting products Made in Britain launched with backing from UK manufacturers and MPs.

We have also shown our commitment to improving ethical performance by joining the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange.? The not-for-profit organisation looks to connect businesses intent on continuous improvement in ethical performance with their global suppliers to share ethical data.

Bow Top®

Bow Top is made with a gentle curve at the top following RoSPA guidelines, which is less likely to cause harm to young children – no hand or neck traps and no sharp protrusions. The bars are difficult for children to climb, the gates are designed with an offset hinge and an anti-slam plate, so there is no finger trap, and the railings give parents an unhindered view of their children. An optional self means the gate can shut automatically, reducing the chance of children wandering out or dogs wandering in. Colours can be mixed and matched, and slotted cleats mean stepping on sloping ground is easy. The curved solid bar bows produce attractive railings for playgrounds, parks and other public areas. It comes in different heights and bar gauges and with either a galvanised or galvanised and coated finish, all too short lead times.

Zariba®
Zariba combines the robust Duo platform with an ornate ring top or lettered design and ball finials in bright colours, making it one of the most attractive mesh fencing systems for parks, playgrounds, schools and shopping centres. A single vertical 6 or 8mm wire between twin horizontal wires makes the system strong yet cost-effective.

Gemini®

The Gemini range includes four attractive styles for surrounding areas on the show: Wave, Convex, Concave and Surf. Each share the curvaceous styling common to Gemini yet provides variety to suit radically different settings. The latest Surf style suits the sloping terrain better by incorporating the convex and concave pattern in the same panel, maintaining the wave effect even when panels need to be stepped. Fencing panels come in heights up to 6m.

HiSec®
HiSec uses popular ‘358’ welded mesh to repel would-be intruders and is used for British prisons by the Home Office.

The close mesh means it is almost impossible to climb; it is tough to cut with anything other than power tools. The panel ends are held against the post by a clamp bar, which makes levering the panels off almost impossible. The system is available up to 6m high in a single panel and now comes in a lighter 76.2 x 25.4mm version.

Hi-Sec Super reduces attack options to vulnerable horizontal wires even further, using either 6mm or 8mm vertical wires and 76.2 or 50mm spacing.

It has achieved accreditation with Secured by Design, the official UK Police flagship initiative supporting the principles of ‘designing out crime’. Secured by Design focuses on crime prevention at the design, layout and construction stages of homes and commercial premises and promotes the use of security standards for a wide range of applications and products.

ArmaWeave®
ArmaWeave is the highest security protection available in fencing. The patent-pending design achieves the highest rated standards of all fencing products for defending against the forcible attack. It can be combined with other intruder systems, electronics and access control to create the optimum integrated fencing solution.

Its unique properties add substantial resistance to cutting attacks with hand, powered and non-contact tools. The tight mesh pattern provides no climbing aids, limiting the potential for intrusion.

It can also be raked, limiting the need for stepping panels across undulations in ground levels. This reduces installation costs significantly compared with standard welded mesh systems.

ArmaWeave is already used at several high-profile maximum-security installations across the UK and has achieved Secured by Design accreditation.
